         Located along the Rock River south of the John Deere Headquarters in Moline, Illinois, this project transforms a productive landscape into an immersive public experience that reveals the relationship between technology, maintenance, and ecology. Rather than concealing the operations behind contemporary landscape management, the design celebrates them as an integral part of the landscape itself.

    The site is organized as a gradient from highly controlled agricultural and recreational landscapes adjacent to the headquarters to increasingly autonomous forests, wetlands, and river-edge ecosystems toward the south. Through this transition, visitors experience the continuum between human intervention and natural processes, gaining a deeper understanding of how landscapes are shaped, maintained, and sustained over time.

    Aerial gondolas inspired by John Deere's legacy of innovation traverse the site, offering a unique perspective of seasonal agricultural operations, forestry management, habitat restoration, and ecological succession. Observation towers, educational nodes, and demonstration landscapes showcase John Deere machinery in action, transforming routine maintenance activities into opportunities for learning and engagement.

    By framing maintenance as a visible and meaningful process, the project reimagines the landscape as a living classroom where technology, stewardship, and nature coexist. The result is both a corporate showcase and a public destination—one that invites visitors to reflect on humanity's evolving role in shaping the environment.
