    The increasing frequency and intensity of heat waves around the world due to climate change have led to severe consequences, including extreme temperatures, fires, power outages, drought, and even death. Europe, in particular, has experienced numerous heat waves in recent years, making it a global outlier. This project aims to study the relationship between heat waves and urban environments in Europe.

    The study focuses on the impact of urban density and green space on the occurrence of heat waves. By superimposing information on population density and green area rate, the project seeks to understand how these factors affect the occurrence of heat waves in cities. Additionally, the study compares heat wave maps with precipitation maps to determine the correlation between these factors.

    The study finds that countries such as France, Spain, and Italy, which have high population densities and low precipitation, experience more severe heat waves. However, the project also recognizes that increasing temperatures and precipitation can present new opportunities for some cities. For example, the warmer weather may increase the yield of certain crops, and new energy sources such as solar energy may become more feasible.

    Overall, this project provides valuable insights into the impact of urban environments on heat waves and highlights potential opportunities for cities to adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change.
